Commentary on regulation of conditions on farms and conditions of animal welfare on farms (NN 135/2005)

Sažetak
We can define farm as an ecological niche in which animals live, are grown and kept, and which provides optimal conditions for their maximal productive potential. In the begging of negotiations of our country with the EU certain regulations have to conform to the requests of the EU Commission, as is the case with this Regulation (NN 136/05). This Regulation defines commitments of animal owner and commitments of authorized veterinarian on the farms. General conditions of building and object arrangement and animal welfare are written as per modern zoohygienic and technologic basics. General conditions of calf protection, for all swine categories and minimal conditions for laying hens protection are also elaborated. Animal welfare law (NN 19/99) particularly describes animal protection in relationship to animal keeping, feeding and watering.
