KOPRIVNICA-KRIŽEVCI COUNTY AND HER MILITARY FORMATIONS IN HOMELAND WAR 1991-1995. FRAGMENTARY DESCRIPTION

Sažetak
Contribution of military formations of Croatian Army and Croatian Police force from Koprivnica-križevci county in defense and liberation of Republic of Croatia shall be presented in this article. The County was behind the first frontline in Homeland war 1991-1995. And apart from it, the county gave a tremendous contribution to defense and liberation of Republic of Croatia from Great-Serb aggression. Among the first areas liberated in Republic of Croatia, the County area was liberated from Yugoslav National Army (JNA) and the weapons taken from JNA have been sent to the rest of Croatia as well as newly erected units, incorporated in the defense of Croatia on Novljan-Pakrac battlefield from October of 1991. The same units participated in liberation of Croatia in most part. The largest part of paper is dedicated to them. Besides Croatian Army (HV), great contribution came from county's Special Police force, sepcially at the beginning of the Homeland War in 1991 during the defense of Pakrac, Daruvar and Banovina area.
