The media industry has changed dramatically under the influence of post-industrial society. The music industry, as part of the overall media industry, is changing the way revenue is generated. The classic physical stores, in the brick-and-mortar model, are slowly disappearing under the pressure of music streaming services. The aim of this paper is to highlight the financial results of Spotify's global streaming service. Spotify is one of the unicorn pioneers of the music industry in the streaming service model. Using a strategic model of platform economy, it grew into one of the leading global streaming services and became a global corporation. According to the achieved financial results, it is at the threshold of the mature stage of the product life cycle.
