Sažetak

Large cities provide increasing need for modern urban planning. Urban planning involves landscape
design, landscape ecology and innovative solutions. “Green technology” and greater biological diversity
make “green service” allowing cheaper and healthier citizen’s life. Ecological management of public areas
and private gardens should be in line with the global project on urban biodiversity which, for example,
the city of Zagreb joined in 2007. The main goal of this project consists in creating corridors that connects
public spaces and private gardens in the city center with the natural environment around the city.
