Sažetak

The first book published in 1918 by bookseller and publisher Đorđe Ćelap was Krleža’s Croatian Rhapsody, accompanied by first editions of Kraljevo and Cristoval Colon. This serves to testify that Krleža originally considered the aforementioned novella – or lyrical prose in dramatic form – to be a drama text. Part of Croatian Rhapsody was published in the journal Savremenik (1917, no. 5) and was not included in the novella cycle before the publishing of Croatian God Mars (Zagreb, 1946), which serves to testify that the structure of the drama/novella itself is open genre-wise. I shall document Krleža’s aforementioned transgenre transgression with selected examples from his transgenre diary Olden Days (Davni dani), the diary matrix of which was written during the First World War. Briefly put, the article is focused on Krleža’s youthful post/dramatic letter with emphasis on three post/dramatic non-places – train, ship, and fair – from the edition published by Krleža’s friend, bookseller and publisher Đorđe Ćelap.
