A Socio-Constructive Approach to Media Discourse Analysis

Sažetak

Discourse analysis is the name of a number of different approaches to the text
or some other empirical material analysis developed from various theoretical
traditions or disciplines. Discourse analysis is not unique; various styles of
analyzing are represented within this discipline.
One thing common to all the types of discourse analysis is that they all reject
the realistic understanding of language as a simple, neutral medium of word
description; rather discourse analysis is one of central elements in the construction
of social reality. This paper examines a type of discourse analysis
which has considerably affected fields like scientific sociology, communication
science, media research, social pathology, political science and social
work.
