Sažetak

Autoimmune blistering diseases are a group
of diseases of skin and/or mucous membranes, clinically characterized
by blisters resulting from different immunologic response
to molecular components of desmosomes or basement
membrane zone. Various entities are included in the group of
blistering diseases. The contemporary classifi cation of blistering
diseases is based on the position of blister separation, so they
are divided into intraepidermal and subepidermal blistering
diseases. Autoimmune blistering diseases are chronic diseases,
with unpredictable prognosis. Some of them can be fatal (e.g.
pemphigus vulgaris), while some other require frequent controls
and sometimes a long-lasting therapy. Therapy should be started
as soon as diagnosis is confi rmed. This article provides only
possible guidelines, because every patient should be monitored
before the onset of therapy for all parameters important to
determine the appropriate type and dose of the medicinal product.
Experience and teamwork are also of utmost importance
in the treatment of autoimmune blistering diseases.
