Croatian tourism and estimates of its economic impacts

This article looks at the importance of tourism for the overall Croatian economy and the attempts at estimating its economic impacts. All of the available data are the result of individual
institutional and personal estimates, based on insufficient statistical data and research. Unfortunately, this also refers to the development
of Tourism Satellite Account, as well as to official data provided by the Ministry of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development, which has changed several sources and bases of estimates, for the past six year, without any explanation, hence bringing into question the reliability and questionable quality of their use, but also the credibility and consistency of managing the tourism policy on such a basis.
