Sažetak

ln this paper the validity of public opinion research conducted in
the period preceding the elections by the Institute for Applied
Social Research (University of Zagreb) and for the House of
Representativesof the Croatian Parliament,has been analysed. ln
the course of the validation analysis suitability of different
possibilities for determining the validity of the research results has
been examined. Furthermore, some of the specific
methodological difficulties which can reduce the validity of public
opinion research, in our circumstances, and complicate the
procedure of their validation, have been outlined.
