Sažetak

The paper deals with problems related to the new European
identity, raised by the globalization of economy, technology and
science and by the accompanying changes in the European
pattern of culture and civilization. In the case that the so - called
model of "regionally and ethnically structured Europe" prevails in
the future, it will generate - due to the principles of diversity and
openness which are inherent to this model - more energy than
the alternative model of "a melting Europe".
