Sažetak

The paper consists of three parts: the first part presents the summation of social work theory and practice, which accepts and teaches post-modern elements in social work. Creation of post-modern thoughts as a usable knowledge is needed in social work, as well as the creation of appropriate words to continue, describe and expand the theoretical knowledge. We also need the experience of using constructional approach with the purpose of implementing a good practice.
The second part of the paper defines social work with the family within a post-modern framework. A concept of creating a relation with the family is presented, as well as the open conversational space during the research of reality of the family in order to obtain new helpful stories and co-operation.
The last part presents a model of social work with the family which implies the whole process: from creating a relation with the family, respecting its uniqueness to a network of professionals, with complementary support services which enable real choices and changes.
