About Franjo Rački was until now written pretty enough. In view of the fact that he was the priest of the Diocese of Senj and Modruš, it stands to reason that quite enough pieces of information about him can be found at the Bishop's Archives at Senj. These pieces of information were until now exploited rather poorly, althougs they may help pretty well in understanding the life and work of this prominent historian from second half of the 19th c. Likewise, it can be seen from the protocol of received and dispatched documents that he was considerably supported by the Bishop Mirko Ožegović. So, he gave him the opportunity to be educated abroad and after having finished his studies he left him at his discretion to devote himself to what he was best endowed or were it would be the most useful for the Croatian poeple.
