Sažetak

Energy demand for heating and air-conditioning of building depends
on target values of indoor thermal environmental parameters, which are
prescribed by international standards based on heat balance models of the human body. The heat balance models have been derived from extensive experiments in laboratory climate chambers. Field studies have indicated drawbacks of that approach, especially in the case of naturally ventilated buildings. Based on field experiments, the adaptive approach to modelling thermal comfort has been developed, which has bigger and bigger influence on determination of optimal thermal environmental parameters in international standards. In this paper, a review of the basic characteristics of both approaches has been given.
