Sažetak

Ecological production is a model of agricultural production in developed countries, with accent on environmental protection, consumers, indigenous genotypes and wellbeing of animals. Consumers in developed economies are putting more accent on the quality, lifecycle of the product and safety of the product. Last two decades increasing number of agriculture producers in the countries of the Middle Europe are redirecting onto ecological production, but it is represented differently. Considering available natural resources, ecological production in Croatia is not represented enough, which is consequence of inadequate preparedness of the producers and consumers. With the goal of encouraging and improving it is necessary to ensure application of existing legislatives in practice, to ensure adequate ecological monitoring, continuous promotion of this way of production and preparation of the products in technological and marketing way. With adequate state incentives, especially on the areas of special state interest, which have significant natural resources. It is necessary to ensure application of adequate technology.
