Sažetak

It seems that cornes time of facing our societv with modern secular ideas and institutions. That event in sociologv is also called modernization. Our societv, contrarv to that, is characterized, above ali, by tradition, though is conceited to say that in it there are not components of modernism at ali. The role of religion and Church is irreplaceable and crucial in these epochal happenings, particularv because of connection with tradition and tradicio-nalism. This text trries to describe possible alternatives of that meeting, because is obvious that religion and Church are not connected on historv for
ali time but they are, first of ali, directed to future. From that point there is possibility of ability to link religion and modernity in the Croatian society.
