Sažetak

Why are parents so much afraid of their children keeping company with young people of the same age?
In these turbulent times, groups of young people are bound to be associated with alcohol, drugs, and delinquency. These fears are probably provoked by the expressions of revolt, nihilism, contempt, agressive behaviour - all being manifestations related to this period of life and not necessarily to be regarded as negative signs.
A circle of friends of the same age is an important factor facilitating the formation of behaviour and the knowledge of interpersonal communication.
Besides stimulating communication and social skills indispensable in life, the group plays a part in the psychic development of the individual and promotes affective maturing.
The group can also, of course, exert a negative influence, but if the atmosphere within the family is sound and the education has been wisely arui sensibly organized, allowing the children to handle situations themselves, to confront themselves with real life, the influence of the family will not be imperiled by any group outside.
Consequently, during this extremely delicate period it is of great importance for parents to invest much love, warmth, patience, understanding and wisdom in the education of their children.
