Sažetak

This is a review and analysis of the response to the document which the Congregation for Scientific Belief issued on October 15, 1989: "Letter to the Bishops of the Catholic Churches on Several Aspects of Christian Meditation". A summary of this document is presented by chapters and attention is given to problems mentioned: the spread of eastern meditative techniques, the potential for the neglect of Christian prayer traditions and union with God through the paschal mystery of Christ. The significance of Christian prayer is compared with the meditative systems of yoga and zen.
