Reinforced-concrete walls in earthquake-prone areas

Sažetak

The design of reinforced-concrete walls in earthquake-prone areas according to EN 1998-1 is based on results of extensive international research efforts and studies, the more important of which are presented in the paper. The authors present the analysis, structural shaping, and elaboration of reinforcement details for ductile walls according to modern principles accepted in the European standard, and in standards of some other countries. An overview of reinforcement of critical wall area is given.
