Sažetak

Adriatic Sea and the coastal area of the Croatian are both distinctive and unique because of the richness of life, purity and transparency of the sea, and well-indented coast and dynamic landscape. Consequently,, the fundamental strategic orientation of the sustainable management Croatian Adriatic Sea, coast and islands, is essential and the preservation of priceless natural resources and conservation of marine ecosystems and coastal areas, allowing a balanced development of economic activities in coastal and island areas. In the region of the Adriatic sea, coast and islands are the most valuable, and the most sensitive natural Croatian eco-systems. In this particular place, the processes dependant on the interaction of sea and shore occur. All of these characteristics require a carefully designed control and management. Development pressures and negative impacts on natural ecosystems are all distinct, and arising from the intensification of the process of universal littoralisation which threatens coastal scenery and the water surface, especially because all forms and types of waste water end directly in the sea.
Although Croatia is on the top of the world’s stockpiles of potable water, some regions have no water supply system or it is not sufficient. Accordingly, this paper treats the most important projects in Croatia dealing with water supply and drainage waters of the Adriatic.
