Sažetak
The residential area Stara Peščenica began to shape up in the early 20th century in the process of planning the city expansion eastwards. Typologically, it is akin to German and Viennese planned communities inspired by the English garden
cities. The planning documents gave clear guidelines for a phased development with the aim to form a new urban area where the dominant architectural and urban-planning ideas of the period could be successfully implemented.
