Influence of the Political-Territorial Organization of Croatia on the Location of Service and Industrial Activities

Sažetak
Political-territorial organization of Croatia between 60's and 90's was based on about a hundred relatively big communes as very independent political and economic units. That relatively stable political-territorial organization was known under the name of communal system and in thirty significantly affected the spatial processes and structures in Croatia. The aim of this article is to resesrch and explain the effect of the communal system on the location of the industry and service activities. This paper also takes into consideration the potential effect of the new political-territorial organization on the location of the economic activities.
