Sažetak

40% of all injuries in soccer are knee injuries that
take place in training or competition. It is expected that the
number of injuries will reduce considering the constant
build-up of knowledge, but it is not so. Statistical
indicators say that it is in a mile raise. The reason for that
fact lays in many factors such as: raise of number and
intensity of training and a denser competition schedule.
Rupture of ACL is 40% of all knee injuries, 56% to 70%
ACLinjuries are self inflicted.
Knee functioning depends on a proper muscle
strength ratio between quadriceps and hamstrings
muscles. Hamstrings strength output should be around
60% of quadriceps strength, depending on a speed of
movement.
This study analyzed the process of recovery after
anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with Kenneth –
Jones method of 10 soccer players (tendons of
semitendinosus and gracilis muscles were used for graft
selection).
The goal of this case study is to validate a 6 week
rehabilitation process, and the changes it made on
hamstrings muscle with Biodex System 3 isokinetic
machine. Also, the goal was to confirm the benefits of an
aggressive rehabilitation process after ACL reconstruction.
