Croatian Colored Goat is an autochthonous breed that originates and is bred on karst areas. This breed is largely bred for meat production, chiefly high-quality kid carcasses. According to the fact that reproduction is a basis of meat production, the aim of this research was to determine the reproductive characteristics of Croatian Colored Goat (prolificacy, litter size, sex ratio, birth weight) as preconditions of breed for meat production. This study involved totally 407 goats with their kids from four family farms, with long tradition of goat breeding in extensive conditions. Researched goats were raised in extensive conditions with the aim of meat production. From a total number (407) of investigated goats, 259 goats (63.63%) kidded the singles, 136 goats (33.42%) kidded the twins, while 12 goats (2.95%) kidded the stillborns. Determined average fertility of Croatian Colored Goat was 130 (computed from the total number of goats (n = 407) and number of live born kids (n = 530). Thus, among the total of 545 kids, 47.52% were singles and 49.72% were twins and 2.75% were stillborns. There were determined total 267 (50.38%) female and 263 (49.62%) male kids. There were no significant effects of family farm and season of kidding on litter size (>0.05). Kids kidded during the spring had a significantly higher (P<0.001) average birth weight (2.30 kg) than kids kidded during winter (1.77 kg). A negative phenotypic correlation (r = -0.44) was determined between litter size and birth weight of kids (P<0.001).
