Medico-philoshophical School of Rhodes was in antiquity a school known for its superiority, an equal to the School of Knidos. However almost all data were lost and both the school and its pupils were forgotten by history. The discovery though of a stone column praising the Rhodian physician Pheidias Apollonius (ca 4th century AD), found in the heart of the ancient city of Athens, unveiled the magnitude of the neglected old school.
