A Brief History and Description of the Journal

The West Croatian History Journal is a publication of the Department of History at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka. The Journal was first published in 2006, and from 2007 to 2012, it was issued as a double issue, while since 2013, the journal has been published annually. The West Croatian History Journal publishes contributions from all historical fields and periods, but it also strives for a multidisciplinary approach to the research of historical, social, and cultural topics from Central and Southeastern Europe, as well as the Mediterranean. The Journal of the History of Western Croatia publishes original scientific articles, review papers, preliminary reports, and reviews and reports. The works are published in Croatian, English, Italian, and Slovenian. All submitted and accepted papers will be first evaluated by the editorial board and then submitted for the review process. 

Submission of Papers

Papers are accepted electronically at: cpzh@ffri.uniri.hr. after which the paper will undergo a double blind review through the OJS system.

Copyright

The author retains the copyright of the published article but grants the journal the right of first publication. By submitting a paper for publication, authors grant permission for the publication of the electronic version of the work.

Review Process

All papers (except reviews, commentaries, conference reports, etc.) must undergo a review process (double-blind review), and only positively evaluated papers are published. The final decision on the categorization of the paper is made by the editor-in-chief, primarily guided by the reviewers' evaluations.

Open Access

Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the material and use it in other lawful ways, as long as the original work is properly cited, in accordance with the CC BY license. You may not use the material for commercial purposes.

The Journal does not charge any fees from either the author or the reader, but the publication of the work, as well as its download and reading, is completely free.
