Waveform modelling for the study of earth structure and seismic sources
(in Slovenian)
Abstract
Waveform modelling of observed seismograms using complete synthetic signals obtained with the normal mode summation (Panza, 1985) is presented. Both low and high frequency modelling are discussed with several examples from California and Italy. Complete synthetic seismograms can be used not only to infer the source mechanism or structural parameters, but can be very useful also to predict strong ground motions for engineering purposes.
