Socijalna podrška kod adolescenata s tjelesnim oštećenjem

Social support as a means of interactionwith other people involves the perception of the received help.Tis is important beacuse of person ' s feeling that in a crisis or stressful situation one can count on the advice, information, instrumental help or understanding of other people. This feeling that we can expect help from others can affect the formation of positive self-image. The purpose of the research was to establish existing difference in the social support between the adolescents with physical disabilities who are in boarding accommodation covered by vocational rehabilitation and the adolescents without physical disabilities placed in a boarding school in Zagreb.The study included 150 adolescents with physical disabilities and 150 healthy adolescents in boarding schools in Zagreb modified Lučanin - Despot social support questionnaire were used in measurement.The results also show that adolescents with physical handicap try to compensate their physi-cal damage by means of social support; they accept it and look for it more than the healthy adolescents. Therefore, their attitudes and experience related to their physical disabilities will be such as the society permits and directs.
