Sprovod urbane kulture (2001): između zaborava i nostalgije ili o zajedničkim budućnostima zadarske nezavisne scene
Abstract
This article problematizes memory and remembrance, or, more specifically, oblivion and nostalgia, evoked by the activist art performance entitled Funeral of Urban Culture performed in 2001 in Zadar. This was the largest performance of civil resistance by the youth and independent scene, which came about as a reaction to a cultural atmosphere still present in Zadar, where the two groups are marginalized. Methodologically, the study employs triangulation through the use of ethnology of the proximate and autoethnography, and it is characterized by advocacy and engagement, with a focus on reflecting on the Funeral as a “place of memory” with a transformative potential for bringing a community together and imagining common futures of the Zadar independent scene.
