Abstract
This paper analyses several sentences from the beginning of the first prologue of Dundo Maroje in which Long Nose recalls the »negromancy« that he had put on before the Dubrovnik audience three years earlier, i.e., in 1548, thinking of the now lost comedy of Pomet. The analysis should show that Peter Kolendić once wrongly interpreted the »negromancer’s« mention of Placa, attempting to explain the disharmony between the given stage space of Dundo Maroje in the Rešetar Manuscript (Town Council Chamber) and the mention of Placa in the first prologue. It is concluded that Long Nose is not speaking of the place in which Dundo Maroje is performed, rather of that in which Pomet was presented, and that the latter mentioned comedy of Držić was shown not on Placa but in the same place as Dundo Maroje – the Council Chamber.
