Abstract

The article presents the project “Enhancing capacity for integrative supervision in Croatian Education and Teacher Training Agency“ and the introduction of integrative supervision in the Croatian educational system as a result of the project and training for supervision of a group of senior advisers in the Croatian Education and Teacher Training Agency. The completion of the training programme was followed by preparations for the presentation of integrative supervision and its formal introduction in the educational system. In the period from 2008 to 201,1 the need for supervision was recognised by 780 educational workers that were members of 75 supervision groups. During the supervision work with groups, a high motivation of supervisees for processing professional problems as well as the use of creative solving of various problems was discovered. Experience in working with supervision groups testify that teachers and expert assistants during their education and previous professional training have not acquired sufficient knowledge for solving or managing problems they encounter in their work and that supervision is needed as a means of professional support. The supervision learning process becomes increasingly important in the area of education enabling personal, social and professional development of participants.
