Sažetak

Politics was, and has always been, an inevitable theme in the theatres in every period of history. The aim of going through a brief adventure called the history of the political theatre is to point out the fact that the political theatre is not just a part of the history, but on the contrary: what made Eshilus, 472 B.C., write the first saved play has made Ivo Brešan, in the recent history, write his play. Ivo Brešan's Predstava Hamleta u selu Mrduša Donja represents, according to many critics, is one of the most infl uential croatian plays in the recent Croatian literary history. Play about hypocrisy, rascarly, and opportunists disguised in political phrases, no matter the time and political system in which the piece is played, is actually a play about all of us today for it witnesses that characters like Bukara are still being born every day and that they manage to rule successfully.
