Sažetak
The media have an important influence on the shaping of public knowledge of individuals as well as small and large groups and communities. The media interprets the past and present, predicts the future. It is therefore of strategic importance that the media offers honest, objective reporting with the implementation and observance of ethical principles in the service of general interest without ignoring the interests of various minority groups. Today, the media, unfortunately very often, has a function of creating perception rather than forming the knowledge as a basis for decision making process of different target audiences. Perceptions of past and/or reality that is trying to impose, is nothing else but the transformed truth into the function of preventing achievement of knowing the real truth. Future that is built on perception instead on knowledge about past and present, is an unstable construction which end in the forthcoming future is very likely. The imposition of perception, or we can say, the illusion of truth, is one of the forms in the implementation of modern information operations. Central Daily news of HRT, about the 20th annniversary of the Battle for Vukovar, which was published on 20th of November 2011. and many comments in other media, we consider it necessary to point out the fact that the published story was in a function of imposing a complete distortion of truth. We are going to show it describing the thrue about one of the themes that are touched by published news: the Indictment that was read into the radio ether by Siniša Glavašević. Although he has read The Indictment, Siniša Glavašević not its author. The Indictment was not written or distributed in Vukovar, but outside of it. The Indictment was supposed to be one of the elements of the puzzle that is planed, organised and published trying to create the conditions for violent change of government in the Republic of Croatia.
