Sažetak
The Gallery of visual arts in Osijek is a specialized museum
that is very important for the Croatian visual culture of
the 18th, 19th, 20th centuries.
Together with the beginning of educational activity at
the Gallery of visual art, the crisis to visit museums begins;
a necessity for changing terms from a visitor towards cultural
institutions has been noticed and a necessity for getting
introduced to one’s own cultural heritage.
A museum pedagogue is a person responsible for a relation
between the public and private and his mission is to
answer to what and how this could be presented to the public
within the museum exhibition programme. It is up to him
to whom and how to present a content of what the museum
presents.
The concept of Educative book emerged from reconsidering
the idea of how to consolidate a relation between the
visitor and the work of art shown on permanent exhibition;
how an experience by meeting the Gallery could be positive
and constructive, encouraging to developing aesthetic sensibility
and creativity.
The book primarily aimed at primary-school children
of the 3rd and 4th grade in its physical features (material,
shape, design) intending to become a ‘’partner’’ by visiting
the Gallery that will support receptive experience of meeting
the original work of arts. A book content is directed to
pedagogical activity methodology in GLUO as an exchange
of theoretical activities (enjoying - review ; eg. informative
texts, questionnaires) and practical activities with a help of
games and tasks.
The book concept presentation includes a theoretical
content presentation and a way to present it on one hand and
technical needs on the other hand (format, paper, page number
etc.) but also noting ideas on how to use educative books
better (empty working sheets, new working sheets referring
to other exhibitions).
The consideration on how to realize educative books,
reveals new goals beyond a visitor/museum relationship that
refers to cooperation with other institutions and also to adjusting
experts that deal with pedagogical work.
