Sažetak

Thirty-three (33) specimens from lesions o f oral lichen ruber (OLR) were studied by histopathologic analysis in order to examine tendency o f some histopathologic changes in oral epithelium and lamina propria in various clinical forms o f O LR related to the clinical degree o f keratinisation. Results have shown that various clinical types had different microscopical features with different tendency o f frequency in various clinical degree o f keratinisation. In erosive form o f O LR increased frequency o f diskeratosis (60%), hyperplasia and vacuolar degeneration o f basal cells (40%) with increased lymphocyte infiltration (80%) deeper in lamina propria was found. In reticular OLR increased frequency o f hyperkeratosis (75%), vacuolar degeneration o f basal cells and lymphocyte infiltration (60%) was found. In plaque form o f O LR main feature was hyperkeratosis (100%) with increased macrophage infiltration (50%) and connective tissue induration (60%). These findings can be important factors in showing tendency
o f disease activity or resolution.
