Sažetak
Disturbances in salivary secretion, especially its decrease, cause disorders in humans that require treatment. As symptoms may considerably differamong patients, salivary secretion has to be objectively assessed for adequate therapy to be thus allocated. In this study, salivary secretion was tested in 51 subjects. A qualitative test of invitro adhesion indicated xerostomia, in relation to quantitative testing by the salivary test and test of the amount of secretion. These tests were also carried out in o control group of 25 students with normal salivary secretion. The aim of the study was to evaluate these tests in clinical practice. The results obtained showed xerostomia to be found in 72%— 74% of subjects only, when assessing it by in vitro adhesion and by the tests quantitatively determining the intensity of salivation.
