New achievements in concrete bridge construction in Croatia

Abstract

Significant achievements in Croatian bridge construction practice during the past eleven years, i.e. after international recognition of Croatia's independence, are presented. This period is marked by an impressive increase in motorway construction in Croatia, which has also brought about an increase in the construction of bridges, particularly those made of concrete, as prior to that time bridges were mostly built out of steel, with the exception of several arched structures. Some bridges built outside of the motorway network are also presented.
