Sažetak
The author holds that undeveloped and more developed levels of ethnic pluralism are characteristic of modern, industrial societies. On the other hand, he holds that in postmodern societies the processes of ethnic pluralism transform themselves into processes of interculturalism, as national states change and as a consociational form of democracy develops. There are several hindrances which stand in the way of the development of interculturalism, among them the differing criteria used by powerful nation states in regard to inter-ethnic relations.
