Sažetak
Spondyloarthropathies (SpA) represent a group of chronic inflammatory disorders of unknown etiology that affect spine, periferal joints and enthesis. Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) represents SpA that primarily affects axial skeleton. Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) represents SpA with primarily joint involvement. Most rheumatic diseases are characterized by the absence of a single quantitative measure which can serve as a pathognomonic diagnostic test and to assess and monitor clinical status in individual patients. Therefore, an extensive array of disease-specific quantitative measures and indices of these measures have been developed to quantitate patient status and are used in clinical trails and clinical care. Quantitative measurement has led to major advances in diagnosis, prognosis and management of chronic rheumatic diseases. The assessment tools of disease activity and outcomes in AS and PsA are described.
