Review on Doctoral Dissertation: Drago Pupavac: Logistics operator – the factor of dynamic optimization of global logistics chains

Abstract

The main objective of the scientific research of this doctoral thesis is the effect of the logistics operator in the function of cutting total costs of the global logistics chain. In order to achieve the objective of the research, a number of scientific methods have been applied such as survey methods, methods of dynamic programming and mixed convex programming. Owing to the applied scientific methodology,
Drago Pupovac, M.Sc. has successfully interpreted the obtained results by proving that the selective model approach to active participants of the logistics chain gives the logistics operator the insight into potential logistics network, depicts skills of individual operators in the logistics network, specifies logistics activities
of each logistics venture, provides information on costs of specific logistics activities and in that way proves that it enables logistics operator to optimize logistics chains by protecting them from the demand instability and changes.
