The selection procedure for civil servants in the institutions of the European Union is described. The author analyses the role of the European Personnel Selection Office as an interinstitutional service in charge of competition procedures for the personnel in administrative services of the Union. She has shown various manners in which the European Personnel Selection Office has changed the job
competition procedure as a result of increased requirements for personnel and institutional changes within the EU.
