RESULTS IN TREATMENT OF INJURIES OF SHOULDER JOINT

Sažetak

During 1984. 162 patients with contusion of shoulder joint were rehabilitat'ed (contusion,
dislocation and factures). Injuries of shoulder joint are .more frequent in
older patients. Most of the patients were employed, but there were quite a few of
retired patients too. In most cases immobilization lasted ~rom 2-4 weeks. ln the
biggest group of patients cryo-kinesi.therapy was used. Frequent complications include:
post-traumatic humeroscapula·r periarthr.itis, limited function of shoulder
joint and hypotrophic musculature. The success of rehabilitation was evaluated
on the basis of clinical check-up and measurement of shoulder joint mobility. In the
treatment of injuries of shottl.der joint ·importance should be put on team surgical-
physiatrics work, actlive ;involvement of patient, adequate physical therapy (started
early, individual, continued, long enough, tpriority should be put on kinesitherapy
preferring active and actively helped movement).
