CHANGES OF SOME LIPIDS QUANTITIES IN THE SPERMS AND SEMEN PLASMA OF BULLS IN RELATION WITH THEIR AGE AND FERTILITY

Sažetak

In 129 of ejaculates of 64 bulls from the Center for artificial insemination by using customary chemical methods quantity of total lipids, beta-lipoproteins, phospholipids and total cholesterol was determined in the sperms and semen plasma separatelly. From 15 bulls in the age from 1 to 2 years 20 ejaculates were used for investigation, from 22 bulls in the age from 2 to 6 years lipids were determined in 59 ejaculates, and from the oldest bulls (age from 6 to
9 years) in the 50 ejaculates. Quantity of total lipids in ejaculates increasing with the age,of bulls. Quantity of total lipids in the sperms and semen plasma of youngest and oldest bulls was significantly different (p<0,05, p<0,025). Rise of phospholipids quantity in the sperms and semen plasma was significantly higher only in the sperms of oldest bulls in relation with the youngest (p<0,05). Beta-lipoproteins and total cholesterol increasing nonsigniflcantly in
the ejaculates abreast with age of bulls.
In connection fertility above mentioned lipids were determined in 40 ejaculates which were taken from 25 bulls with "non return" of.45-65%, and in 70 ejaculates from 27 bulls with "non return" of 65-85%. In the bulls with higher "non return" without connection with age quantity of total lipids and cholesterol were significantly higher in the sperms (p<0,025, p<0,001) and only cholesterol in the semen plasma (p<0,05).
