Sažetak
Fusarium head blight (FHB) is a fungal disease of small grain cereals that has become of increasing international importance in recent years. The predominant species in Croatia is Fusarium graminearum, since it can result in the most yield loss and is responsible for the production of mycotoxins in the grain. Wheat head infection by spores is favoured by moist, warm conditions from the flowering to the end of vegetation. The most obvious symptoms of FHB visible in milk stage of kernel development are premature bleaching and blighting of wheat spikelets.
