Sažetak
It is necessary to ensure as favorable environmental conditions as possible for a successful growth and development of paprika fruits, so that physiological processes in the plant could develop optimally and that in the end we can achieve an optimal crop of high quality. The most significant environmental conditions which affect the development of paprika fruits are warmth, light and humidity. If they are insufficient or go over certain boundaries, they affect the growth and development of the plants, i.e. the fruits negatively. Consequences of external conditions’ imbalance affect the plants in different ways, which then react with certain symptoms. Less experienced producers sometimes identify those symptoms as the symptoms of certain diseases or pest attacks, and they apply some protection measures in an unjustifiable way.
This paper was written with the aim of better understanding of individual physiological disorders during the growth and development of paprika and their symptoms on plants and fruits of paprika.
The paper deals with the effect of basic environmental conditions on growth and development of paprika and physiological disorders on plants and fruits caused by abiotic factors.
