Sažetak
By the intensity of its pig production, the Netherlands is one of the leding countries in the EU. High production of meat per sow and high performances in pig fattening are achieved respecting external production factors, by implementing breeding programmes of Dalland, Hypor and Stamboek Varkens company. Genetic advance in Dutch pig production is a result of a continuous selection, A. l. of a big number of sows by tested boars, a small number of breeds with a big number of animals per breed, which enables higher intensity of selection and heterosis effect. Two basic tasks that pig producers in the Netherlands are trying to fulfil are: constant cut in both production costs and the production of liquid manure to protect the environment. Verbakel company the world known producer of feeding equipment has developed a system for wet feeding of all categories of pigs that enables the farmers to achieve their aims in a cheap and easy way. Use of Verba feeding eguipment in feeding sows results in decreased loss of suckling piglets, more numerous, heavier and uniform litter in the moment of weaning and shorter non-productive period in sows. In relation to standard feeding equipment for dry feeding, by using Verba feeding equipment in pig fattening, increased daily gain, better feed: gain ratio, lower annual water consumption and amount of manure per stand are achieved. Pigs produce less manure with more DM, which has a positive effect on the environment and cuts the costs of manure storage and manipulation.
