Sažetak

Essentially, irrigation is a cultivation measure in plant production, by which the quantity of water necessary for the optimal growth and development of plants is added to the soil. The basic aim of irrigation is to compensate fluid to the plant, which then the plant absorbs through root and leaves, and loses it through evaporation from the soil and dripping from the soil. The mentioned compensation is necessary if you want to keep the balance of moist and nutritional value of the soil which is very important for the life of plants.
Several ways of irrigation that have developed in time, can be divided to four methods:
- surface- irrigation
- subterranean irrigation
- irrigation by rainfall
- irrigation by dripping
