Abstract

Leaf fungal diseases can cause significant damage on strawberries in Croatia of which the most important are: common leaf spot (Mycosphaerella fragariae), leaf scorch (Diplocarpon earlianum), leaf blotch (Gnomoniopsis comari) and leaf blight (Phomopsis obscurans). Commom leaf spot and leaf scorch usually occur in early to mid-spring and leaf blotch and blight is more common during the summer and early fall. All these four fungal disease are favored by warm and moist weather. For the control of these diseases on strawberies in Croatia there are only two fungicides (mancozeb and copper) but only for leaf scorch and leaf blotch disease.
