Abstract
The modem treatment of wounds includes the application of methods which ensure better results and are cheeper. There are a few economic terms (cost-benefit and cost-efficiency) linked to the problem of wounds, but which could be applied to any other medicinal method. This article explains the basic terminology and the practical application of economic analysis of a given treatment. Moreover, the assessment which new medicinal technology to apply should include: a general estimate, patient’s needs, clinical examination as well as social, ethic and legal aspects. Only after such an assessment should it be accepted as a method of choise.
