Abstract
The beneficial protective effect of the seat belt is well known. However, there are various injuries attributable to their usage, defined as the “seat belt syndrome”. We present a traffic accident with two dead and one seriously in jured participants. One of the front seat passengers succumbed to left pulmonary artery disruption. It is significant that all the passengers included were wearing seat belts at the time of collision. Protective effect of the seat belt is reduced in high speed collisions because human body cannot tolerate great decelerative forces. This is an example of injuries attributable to the interaction of human body and the seat belt.
