Sažetak
This work presents the Catholic approach to Martin Luther and to his work on the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, and consists of three parts. The first part presents the opinion of a Catholic theologian and historian Peter Manns, according to which the Protestants and Catholics can consider Luther, for his efforts in the reconstruction of Christianity, "the common father in faith". The second part discusses the controversy between Luther and the representatives of the Catholic Church, which leads to a sharpening of the conflict over the fundamental theological topics, which is why the Catholic party proclaims Luther a heretic, and Luther proclaims Pope the "Antichrist". In the third part, which describes Luther's life, there is an ecumenical discussion about the concept of religious life. Catholic prejudices on the one hand and Protestant stiffness with political intrigues on the other hand lead to the conclusion that Luther can be simultaneously labelled as „father and apostate in faith“.
